CPR+ Backup Service on Track for July Rollout

Dynamic Link Library, or .DLL files, are a type of file used by an executable, or .EXE file, to communicate with devices or perform certain functions. Sooner or later, Windows can have a problem distinguishing the differences between ordinary .DLL files. This is most often caused by incomplete uninstalls, overloading the file system or registry, temporary files, etc. RDWebutils is a standard .DLL file, containing code that CPR+ uses for RemitDATA functionality. Even if someone does not utilize RemitDATA, the file still needs to be registered. CPR+ users may see this error occur with the RDWebutils.dll file.

To correct the error, follow these steps:

NOTE: The user must have administrative rights within Windows to perform the following steps.

- The user’s PC will need the program .NET 2.0 installed.  This file can be installed by clicking here. (If on Citrix or Terminal Server, the files need to be installed on the Terminal or Citrix server.)

- Now that .NET 2.0 is installed, check the local files path in CPR+.  From the Main Menu, click Utilities (8) > System Setup (2). Look for the asterisk on one of the top two fields (Local Files Path and WAN Files Path). Open the folder with the asterisk and set it aside on your desktop for a moment.

- Go into your CPR+ directory where the executable file (cpr.exe) is located and find the RDWebutils.zip file. Unzip the contents to the local or WAN path you opened in the above instructions. **This path has to be local to the machine because the file cannot be registered over the network.

- You should see rdwebutils.dbl (20KB), rdwebutils.dll (44KB) and regasm.exe (52KB) in that local or WAN path. Open a command prompt by going to Start > Run and type cmd and press the <Enter> key. Go to the following prompt:

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 (press Enter)

- Now type:

caspol -af C:\CPR_SQL (or whatever your local files path is)\RDWebUtils.dll

- You may be prompted to perform the operation, if so, type “Y” for yes.

- Change the directory to the local files path and type in:

regasm rdwebutils.dll /codebase

If you have someone who is not a biller and is getting this error, you can create a text file in the local or WAN path called noremitdata.txt and this should prevent the error. This is only recommended for non-billers.

User Conference Class Highlight: Managing Deliveries

Have you met our very own Wizard of Modules, Nicholas Tieu? You may remember his excellent article about casting spells to magically manage your inventory with CPR+ Scan, or maybe he mesmerized you with his knowledge of CPR+ Web Portal. If you have seen him work, there’s no doubt you were impressed with Nick’s ability to listen to your needs and figure out whether a CPR+ module can help. He joined D.H.S. less than one year ago, and already has become a valued resource to our Sales Team and to our Customers.

Nick’s extensive training and experience as an IBM Enterprise Software Sales Specialist has prepared him to be a consultative resource. He has an extraordinary ability to articulate complex concepts and demonstrate how a module can positively impact your operations and your bottom line. Nick has a BSBA in Management Information Systems through the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. He’s a graduate of the 2005 IBM Global Sales School Program and has held A+ Certified Professional status since 1999. He also has experience as a radiology claims researcher.

Nick now has responsibility for Module and Training Sales in the eastern half of the U.S. He also operates in a Product Manager role, coordinating the marketing for several modules and communicating enhancement requests to development for those modules. It helps that he truly enjoys helping our customers make the most of their investment.

We asked Nick what drew him to D.H.S. He told us “I saw an opportunity to join an organization that was agile and quick to respond to the needs of its customers. The associates at D.H.S. are all genuine about creating and supporting a product that truly helps our customers grow their businesses. I take pride in doing my best to uphold the standard of service that Jeff and Stuart have established over the last 15 years.”

We’re glad to have Nick as part of our team!
