Top 10 Things You Didn't Know about CPR+

It never fails . . . every time we’re in front of a customer, demonstrating or training something in CPR+, someone will shout, “Stop! Go back. What was that? How did you do that?” We’ll back up and they’ll say “I didn’t know CPR+ could do that . . . when did that get added?” And we’ll have to say, “Uh, we added that in 2002.”

If you’ve experienced this, don’t feel bad – you are definitely not alone! It’s hard, if not impossible, to keep up with all the changes. I mean, you’ve got a life, right? I thought I’d try to help refresh your memory by listing the Top Ten Things You Didn't Know About CPR+.

In no particular order:

1. You can take digital pictures of a patient’s incision site, wound, home environment, whatever, and link them directly to the patient’s Clinical Record. Sequential pictures can then be viewed to observe wound healing, progress, etc., and they can be emailed as needed to the physician, nursing agency, etc. Check out the camera icon on the Patient Menu toolbar.

2. You can quickly retrieve the last four patient records you've accessed, on either the Clinical side or the Billing side. Click on the File drop down. CPR+ remembers the last four patient’s you’ve accessed in either area, similar to how Microsoft® Word / Excel® stores the last four documents or spreadsheets you’ve worked on, making retrieval fast and easy.

3. CPR+ includes a full Data Dictionary with field and table definitions, links, etc., so that you can more easily write custom reports using a third party tool like Crystal or Access.

4. This is an oldie but a goodie. I’ll bet you didn’t know that CPR+ can create a Multi-Patient Invoice that you can send to a Hospice, LTC facility or other entity with subtotals by patient and a grand total for the business. If you’re interested in using this, give us a call, we’ll show you how to do it in ten minutes or less.

5. If you operate a Multi-Site system, you can easily switch from one site to another without logging out of CPR+. Click the “File” menu (top left), then click “Switch Sites”, or you can press <Ctrl+F1>.

6. Do you have a retail store front? CPR+ includes a fully integrated Point of Sale module that allows you to quickly select or scan an item or items being purchased, assess Sales Tax, create a Patient Receipt, deduct the items sold from inventory, create an invoice and post the payment, all in a couple of keystrokes. Click on the cash register icon on the toolbar.

7. You can perform a Medicare Part D E1 Eligibility Check in seconds. Click the “Part D Check” icon on the list of toolbar icons.

8. Would you like to strengthen your system security? Did you know that you can require your users to change their password at specific intervals and have the system automatically log them out after X number of minutes of idle time? Go to Program Options, Administrative Options #9 and #10.

9. Did you know that you can easily create Progress Notes when you review / edit a Care Plan? Go back to Program Options, Administrative tab, enter a “Y” for #11. When you exit the Care Plan, the system will prompt you with “Have you reviewed / edited this Care Plan”? If you choose Yes, CPR+ will auto-create a Progress Note, filling in the user name, the date and the Note Subject. Enter the Note and you’re good to go. Don’t forget, you can also create a Progress Note template to further streamline the process.

10. More recently, we’ve added the ability to customize your IV Label and Patient Statement. Hey, that’s two things Smiley. Schedule about 45 minutes with a trainer and you can have the Label or Patient Statement you’ve always dreamed of.

Man, this is fun and I’m on a roll. For a list of Ten More Things You Probably Didn’t Know About CPR+, click here.
