Do you feel that you’re in the middle of a “Good News, Bad News” joke? Now, stay with me for this one. Here's the scenario: A 25 year old female with Chron's Disease is referred for TPN and double antibiotics. The patient's current weight is 95 pounds and her height is 5'8". Patient is to receive 2400ml with a 2 hour taper up and 2 hour taper down for the first 3 days then the patient will be on a continuous TPN rate for 24 hours. Patient will have Solumedrol 1gm added to the TPN for the first 3 days per the physician's order. The TPN will be 3:1 and the calorie requirement will be 2800 per day. Labs are ordered day two and then every Monday for a Metabolic panel, CBC with differential, PT/PTT, sed rate and albumin. Patient is sensitive to eggs. Patient is on Vancomycin 1gm q12 hours for 4 weeks and Gentamicin 7mg/kg q24 hrs. Vancomycin trough on day 4 with a Gentamicin level per guidelines. Patient has a double lumen Power PICC that is 3 French. Did I lose you yet? Do you know how you would handle this? Spotlight on Columbus for User Conference Highlight: 2008 Reimbursement Concept's Do you need a Chart Label for your patient records?? If you simply press <Alt+F11> while on the Patient Demographics tab for a patient, a patient chart label will print. This label includes the Patient’s Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip Code, Phone Number, MRN, and Referral Date. It will print to your label printer.
