Over 400 customers made their way to Columbus, Ohio this past weekend for the 5th Annual CPR+ User Conference. The weekend started on Friday with two outstanding pre-conference seminars – “Fundamentals of CPR+”, led by Ted McGraner and “Maximizing Reimbursement with CPR+” led by Reimbursement Concepts’ Linda Payne and Paula Roth. Friday evening brought everyone together for the opening session, featuring presentations by Stuart Crane, myself and the entire D.H.S. Senior Management Team. "Conference turnout was incredible," said Co-Owner Stuart Crane. "I wasn't sure we could exceed what we achieved last year in Las Vegas, but we did, and by a wide margin - I think it was my video that made all the difference!” For those of you who weren’t there, Stuart wrote, directed and starred in a “Virtual Tour of D.H.S.” video that was shown during Friday’s opening session. Other highlights of the evening included an introduction of all D.H.S. staff by department managers followed by an hors d’ouvres and cocktail hour. Many attendees commented on how great it was to get to meet all the people they talk to on the phone. Our employees felt the same way – they really appreciated getting to meet each of you – to make a personal connection and put a face to a name. A spirited demonstration and discussion of CPR+ Web Portal concluded the opening night session, with many excellent ideas and comments from the audience. Thank you for all the input!
Saturday and Sunday featured over 30 hours of in-depth training and product demonstrations featuring the latest version of CPR+, v8.1a. D.H.S. trainers and management staff led sessions on virtually every CPR+ topic, including four “standing room only” sessions on the Line Item Financials led by Ted McGraner (…next year, we’ll try to get Ted to come out of his shell a little bit!)
By Sunday afternoon, everyone’s brains were about to explode. One customer said that if she learned one more new thing, she’d have to loosen her belt by a notch or two. Industry Leaders Exhibit at CPR+ User Conference Another benefit for conference attendees was the ability to network with and see presentations by other industry leaders who were present in the exhibit hall. Sincere thanks to our Integrated Solutions Providers: B. Braun, McKesson, RemitData and S.H.P., as well as Bargmann Management / HCS, Cardinal Health, CareFacts, Infusion Data Pump, Medical Specialties Distributors, Reimbursement Concepts, Rock-Pond Solutions, Southern Imaging, and ZirMed.
All in all, it was an outstanding conference. Many of you have asked about getting additional copies of the 440 page Conference Workbook. Stay tuned for a post-conference survey and email with details in the near future. Thanks so much to everyone who attended this year’s conference. It was great to see all of you and get the opportunity to answer your questions and to listen to your ideas, suggestions and feedback as we continuously strive to make CPR+ the best system it can be. We’ll see you next year in (place to be determined). Stay tuned and be ready to cast your vote!
Creating Delivery Tickets is a daily task in CPR+ and it is most important to understand all of the ramifications of item manipulation. The entry of Service Dates is the first step in communicating to the customer, and the Billing Department, what period of time the items on the Delivery Ticket should cover. Imagine it’s Tuesday morning, you stayed up too late last night watching the Vikings play the Saints and you have a dozen Delivery Tickets to create right now. You’re entering the “From” and “To” dates in the Service Dates section, but you didn’t notice that your new “From” date is two days after the old “To” date, creating a gap in service. Wouldn’t it be great if the software would tap you on the shoulder and say “Hey, did you really mean that?” If you’re like the customers who attended our user conference this weekend, then you too will love the new functionality we’ve added to CPR+ v 8.1.
Previous Dates There is new functionality that will display the previous dates of service on a Working Delivery Ticket. This allows the person who is creating the ticket to have a visual cue for the last dates that were used for this therapy. During the update process, the current dates will copy into these new date fields. Once the ticket is printed again, the "From" and "To" dates are copied into the "Previous Dates" fields and cleared from their respective fields. Not only that, if the new dates create a gap in service or an overlap in service, a pop-up warning will appear. This feature was designed to alert the user of missed or overlapping days. CPR+ makes the determination if dates are overlapping if the date entered into the "From" field is between the "From" and "To" dates listed under Previous Dates heading. If this is the case, the user receives this message:
CPR+ makes the determination if there is a gap in the service dates if the date entered into the From field is more than one (1) day after the To date listed under Previous Dates heading. If this is the case, then the user receives the below message:
For those times when you actually need to overlap dates – say the last dose is given in the morning and the first dose of the new order is given the evening of the same day, these message boxes are just warnings. This is not a hard stop in processing – it’s just there to give you a visual reminder that your dates are not typical. Now all we need is to be on Pacific Time Tuesday mornings! |
