Hello CPR+ Customers and Weekly Infusion Readers:

Well, we did it – one full year of the Weekly Infusion. This issue marks the 53rd consecutive Tuesday that a copy of the Weekly Infusion has appeared in your inbox. We hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing it to you.

Last fall, Stuart and I got everyone at D.H.S. together and announced that we intended to publish a weekly email newsletter. Employee reaction ranged from stunned silence to nervous laughter to utterances I best not repeat here. Employees asked, “What in the heck will we write about every week?” Others commented that it would take “too much time”, that “no one would read it” and that “most companies who attempt to publish a weekly never get past the second month”. I never believed we’d have any trouble finding interesting and valuable topics to write about, but I too was a bit unsure if we’d have the collective discipline required to meet the deadline every week.

The staff was definitely right about one thing – putting together a professional, content-rich newsletter every week is HARD! I’d especially like to thank Editor Laura Pugh, Design and Email Guru Phil Raynes and Proof-Reader-in-Chief Stuart Crane. Without them, the Weekly Infusion would be riddled with typos, if it got out at all. I’d also like to thank every employee who contributed an article over the past year. Well done! We’re proud of it, but we’re even more excited about being able to give you a resource that helps you get more value out of CPR+.

Laura asked me to write an article for our anniversary issue a few weeks ago and as I thought about, I really didn’t want waste your time looking back. We really try to deliver high-value content every week. Besides, we’ve got all the previous issues archived - you can find them at www.cprplus.com/newsletter.

Instead, I wanted to spend a few minutes looking forward.

Every quarter or so, Stuart and I and the rest of our senior management team go off-site for a day to discuss the state of the market and look at the company’s performance in the previous quarter. We then set or reaffirm goals, establish priorities and develop an action plan for the upcoming quarter. There’s never a shortage of good ideas about what we should be doing or what projects we should undertake. At our most recent off-site senior management meeting - after several hours of intense discussions - we kept coming back to the following four priorities. As we manage the day-to-day operation of D.H.S. in the year ahead, these priorities will guide our decisions.

2009 D.H.S. Priorities

1. Continue to deliver the best customer support and training services possible.

2. Initiate a methodical, top-to-bottom review of CPR+ with the goal of improving the performance, stability and functionality of the existing application.

3. Continue to develop and enhance high-value add-on products and services that appeal to a broad range of customers.

4. Focus our product development efforts and resources on the Home Infusion, Specialty Rx and HME markets and to compete aggressively for every new customer that is replacing their software.

These are all critically important and equal priorities. At first glance, they can appear to be in conflict. After all, how can we improve performance and stability while adding new enhancements? The answer is simple: Because we must. Customers and potential customers demand it. Over the years, one of the key factors of our success has been our ability to balance conflicting goals. We will continue to raise the functionality bar while improving the system’s overall performance and stability. Look for a CPR+ v8.2 in the spring with a host of new enhancements for home infusion and HME providers. Also know this: We do not take your business for granted. We will continue to measure our performance against a high standard because we know that we have to prove our value to you every day. The home infusion and HME markets are experiencing dramatic consolidation and considerable head wind. As this occurs, we believe that only the strongest vendor who delivers the highest value will survive. And that is how it should be. We intend to be that vendor.

Have a great Thanksgiving Holiday and thanks for reading the Weekly Infusion.

Question of the Week:

With our annual release fast approaching, is there anything I should do prior to updating??

I’ll be glad to answer that! – YES

It is always recommended that you do the following prior to updating:

  • Make a backup of your CPR SQL data files as well your CPR+ Network folder.
  • Sync your CPR+ Palm and CPR+ Scan devices (if you have these modules.)
