Hello CPR+ Customers,

Can you believe it’s May already??? Time flies - I guess we must all be having fun. Considering that we’re one third of the way through 2009, I thought I’d give you a quick update on what’s happening at D.H.S. Back in November of last year, we reported our four primary company goals for 2009. They were:

1. To continue to deliver the best customer support and training services possible;

2. To initiate a methodical, top-to-bottom review of CPR+ with the goal of improving the performance, stability and functionality of the existing application;

3. To continue to develop and enhance high-value add-on products and services that appeal to a broad range of customers;

4. To focus our product development efforts and resources on the Home Infusion, Specialty Rx and HME markets and to compete aggressively for every new customer that is replacing their software.

We have attacked each of these goals and priorities with a variety of initiatives and projects. Some of the highlights include:

  • IT Survey & Performance Monitoring Project: Early in the year, we conducted an extensive IT Survey and began a Performance Monitoring project with 14 of our largest, multi-site customers. These large customers range in size from 400 concurrent users/32 sites to 60 users/5 sites. Programming changes based on data collected during this effort have already been implemented, resulting in increased speed and efficiency that all customers should notice. For a copy of the 2009 IT Survey results, click here.
  • CPR+ Smartphone Integration for Web Portal: We continue to dedicate a full-time software developer to CPR+ Web Portal, expanding functionality for Employee Access, as well as significant improvements for Referral Sources, Physicians, Patients and Ancillary Providers. Our latest effort is to render patient and other key CPR+ information via Web Portal to your smartphone. If you have a Blackberry, iPhone or Windows Mobile device with a browser, you can now access CPR+ data in real-time with NO SYNCHING! If you’re interested in learning more, click here to register for a FREE Smartphone / Web Portal webinar on May 14th at 2 pm EDT or contact Erika Salvato at the office today.
  • The “TQI2” Committee:  We launched the Total Quality Improvement Initiative, a workgroup composed of staff from all departments at D.H.S. Initially, the group focused on standardizing the form of core CPR+ functionality, basic but important stuff like button labels and behavior, cursor function, etc. You will see “TQI2” items outlined in Software Update Release Notes beginning with v8.2a.
  • Spring Release – v8.2a: Scheduled for general release later this month, v8.2a is a mid-year update that contains a long list of time-saving software enhancements for HME, Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy. Highlights include a barcode-based Order Verification feature, eSignature capability, multiple warehouse locations per inventory item, a “View History” feature on RTB Delivery Tickets and Recurring Rental items, a “Stop Billing Date” on Pick-Up Tickets, significant enhancements to POS functionality, and much more. This version is currently undergoing internal regression testing. Complete Release Notes are not finalized, but if you'd like a sneak-peak, click here. If you’re interested in becoming a Beta site, contact Lisa Kibe today.
  • FREE Customer Training and Customer Support Survey: So far this year, we’ve conducted four FREE Customer Training Webinars (and two more are scheduled for May) on a variety of CPR+ topics. Keep an eye on the Newsletter to take advantage of upcoming sessions. In addition, we conducted a detailed, email-based Customer Satisfaction / “Net Promoter Score” survey and followed up with customers as needed.
  • Training Department “Boot Camp”: Ted McGraner, Director of Corporate Education, conducted an internal week-long “Boot Camp” with all members of the Training and Implementation Department.
  • Three Additional Customer Support Reps: While other software vendors in our industry are cutting staff, we have recently hired three more Customer Support Reps. Be sure to say “Hi” to Cindy, Ben and Nathan as soon as they’re out of training.
  • Inaugural HME Summit: This full-day brainstorming session, held in Columbus on April 2nd, was attended by thirteen representatives from six different HME providers who use CPR+ for their HME operations. We demonstrated and discussed many of the v8.2a HME enhancements and gathered outstanding feedback. Look for new functionality to be released in v8.2a (and v8.3 coming in the fall.)
  • HME Talk:  The HME industry's first email-based forum was launched this spring to rave reviews. Our tag line of “Got Questions? Get Answers.” really hits the mark. HME Talk members discuss many topics related to HME operations, reimbursement, regulations, software, and more. If you’ve got HME questions, sign up here. Coming soon, a web-based HME Talk forum with even more content and value. Best of all, it’s FREE!
  • Trade Shows Galore: CPR+ sales staff crisscrossed the country this spring, talking to HME, Specialty and Infusion providers at MedTrade Spring in Las Vegas, HME Expo in Baltimore, NHIA (also in Baltimore) and Armada, also in Las Vegas.
  • 39 New CPR+ Sites Since January 1st:  In addition to trade shows, the Sales Team has been working overtime to compete aggressively for new customers. Year-to-date sales have been strong, with 39 new customer sites signing CPR+ license agreements since January 1st. Notable new customers include: former Healthcare Automation  customers Chartwell – Indiana and Premier Healthcare Solutions; former Hann’s-On Software customer MediLink Homecare; nine new HME providers including Breathing Care, Inc., the University of Iowa and Carolinas Medical Center HME; and six new Specialty Pharmacy providers.

We’d like to thank all of our new customers AND all of our “old” customers too. We sincerely appreciate your business and pledge to work hard every day to provide you with the best software and support in the industry. If you have any questions about any of the initiatives outlined above or if there is anything that we can do to improve your CPR+ experience, do not hesitate to contact me at 866-277-4876 or via email at jeff.johnston@cprplus.com.

Start today to make it a great rest of the year, before you know it, it’ll be over!

CPR+’s robust inventory component allows you to set par levels for every item. Using the under/over stocked reports, you can identify what you need to order NOW and what you shouldn’t order NOW. Run these reports weekly, paying attention to the trends. If the same items are showing up on either report over and over again, maybe your par levels need to be updated.

To run either of these reports, from the Main Menu, select Reports (4) > Inventory Reports (3). Choose either report: Under Stocked Items (2) or Over Stocked Items (3). Both reports list the same information – the item name, the supplier, the minimum or maximum quantity, and the quantity on hand. Like all CPR+ reports, these reports respect your site login. Is one site over stocked and another under stocked on the same item? Transfer the difference and get the inventory where it needs to be.

**Bonus** Report Library Report: Report Library Report # FF0578 shows you the quantity of items to order, grouped by supplier, for all items that have a quantity on hand less than the minimum. Using a custom layout, the report shows how many packages to order based on the quantity on hand, the maximum on hand par level, and the number of units per package. This report was written by CPR+ customer Dave Walker at I-Core Healthcare and submitted as a shared report to the Report Library Service. Thanks Dave!
