The CPR+ Calendar gives employees the ability to enter, edit, view, and schedule upcoming events within CPR+. This calendar can be accessed from the Calendar icon on the Main Toolbar as well as from the Patient Menu.

To get the most of the calendar functionality you will need to ensure your workstation has the proper controls registered. These controls are:

  • mscal.ocx
  • ctmonth.ocx
  • ctdays.ocx
  • ctcalendar.ocx

To ensure each control is registered go to Utilities (8) > Keyword Commands (8) and type “controls”. Here you will find a list of all your controls.

Click on each line to highlight and press <F5> to register. If you get an error that registration failed, you may need to check with your IT Department to see if you have proper privileges in Windows to be able to register files. This is usually the case if you use a remote “WAN” environment like Terminal Services or Citrix. If you are missing any files or need any help, please give us a call so we can assist.

Using the Calendar

To get started, click on the calendar icon (see below) to open the Company Schedule / Calendar.

I won't review each function button, as they are fairly self-explanatory. An event can be assigned to a single employee or an entire Department. In addition, each appointment or task can be assigned to a patient. There's even filter options to allow employees to see specific types of schedule entries.

A user can view schedule entries based on a specific date or date range. If the checkbox next to the date fields is unchecked, the user can access the pop-ups for the date fields to enter a date range.

Notice the function buttons to change the view: Day, Week, and Month Views. If you don’t have your control files properly registered, clicking on these buttons will probably give you a nasty OLE error message. To view documents linked to a schedule entry, click the Go to Auth (F11) button. Once viewed, the button name will change to Go To CMN or Go To Visit depending on what type of document is linked. If you have no linked document, this button will say Not Linked and appear grayed out as in the preceding example.

Creating a new entry or editing an existing entry will open this window. There are multiple time-saving features to help you view your appointments and associated patient information quickly. Once you assign the appointment to a patient, the menu icon will highlight, which allows you to go directly to the Patient's Menu. If there is an entry that recurs on multiple dates, click on the Date field and then use <Ctrl+click> or <Shift+click> to add multiple days or a date range, respectively. If at any time you want to review the dates entered, place your mouse over the date field and the actual days in the range will appear in a tool tip. You can also press <F5> to link an Authorization, CMN/SMN, or a Clinician Visit to the entry. Subsequent viewings of the record will allow you to view the linked entry directly instead of having to navigate to the patient’s linked document in another section of the program. Typing anything into the large text field (whitespace) will cause the entry in the Main Menu to be italicized.

Other parts of CPR+ integrate with the calendar. When creating a To-Do, there is an option to make a copy of the To-Do and add it to the calendar as an appointment. The appointment is a copy, so any changes to the original To-Do will not carry over and vice versa. Expired authorizations will also automatically create an appointment on the expiration date, and lab results that are due will also create an appointment on their due date.

If you would like to schedule time with one of our Trainers to learn more about the calendar or other features of CPR+, please email Kim Carlsen or call 866-277-4876.

Announcing the NEW HME Talk, located at www.hmetalk.com

Since HME Talk first launched, we have been working on a web-based version of HME Talk that would allow for a more interactive experience – more messages, specific categories of messages, a searchable database, blogs, news, and much more – all via an online web site.

The NEW HME Talk is LIVE, easy to use, and gaining new members and new messages every day.

The new HME Talk web-based site does allow you the ability to read and send message postings VIA YOUR EMAIL SOFTWARE, however, the two services are completely separate and all communications will soon go through the new HME Talk.

  • To see all the recent message postings in one place, click on the “See Latest Postings!” link.
  • To receive postings from a specific category into your email software, click on the forum category (eg. “Billing”) and then click the orange button labeled “Get Posts via Email!” You will also be able to reply to message postings and create new message threads right from your email software.
  • The News area will help keep you up to date with what is going on in the HME world.

Please register at www.hmetalk.com.  Your current subscription to the existing email-based HME Talk service is in no way connected to the NEW HME Talk, so you will need to Register a new account at www.hmetalk.com to begin reading and sending messages on the new HME Talk.  All of the information you need to get started with the new HME Talk is on www.hmetalk.com and www.hmetalk.com/about.php.

The HME Talk ListServ will be turned off permanently this Friday, January 22nd.

If you have any questions or comments, send an email to support@hmetalk.com.  Or, if it’s appropriate, post it on the NEW HME Talk!

Don't you just hate it when you have duplicate Delivery Tickets in the Delivery Ticket Confirmation file?

Your pharmacy staff is creating a Delivery Ticket, taking care of that patient as they should. They send the ticket to the printer and review it before they send it to be fulfilled and see that, "Oh No... I forgot something".

Are they going to the "Working" Delivery Ticket, adding the missing item and reprinting the delivery ticket? Guess what happens then?

It prompts them to send the Delivery Ticket to the Confirmation File... Now you have two tickets in the Confirmation File.

PASS THIS ON TO ANYONE CREATING DELIVERY TICKETS

Any edits to Delivery tickets that have been printed need to be done where???

THE CONFIRMATION FILE

The Delivery Ticket can be edited, items can be added or deleted, quantities can be changed, etc. If the Delivery Ticket needs to be reprinted... you can do that too!
