If your organization reports sales tax collected by State, County, and/or City, please read on. As you are aware, CPR+ can calculate tax on Generic Invoices (Claims), but how do you generate reports on this tax from cash collected? Wait for it. Also, if your organization operates in an area where tax is assessed based on the patient’s location, get ready for this.

CPR+ includes a tool that can be used to assess and report sales tax based on percentages for City, County, and State.

Once the tax codes are built, these can be assigned to a patient record on the patient demographics form.

To use this tax code, you will need to check the “Taxable” box on all applicable inventory items. Once this is checked, tax will be calculated for these items on your Delivery Tickets for items that are billed directly to the patient, or any entity that is billed on a Generic Claim. The tax amount may be collected from the patient / entity and recorded in CPR+ through the Point of Sale module (using the “Load Existing Ticket” function) or through Delivery Ticket Confirmation (using the patient responsibility payment option).

Tax collected is reported through a new option on the Cash Reports Menu – Cash Tax.

This report may be run for City, County, or State. The report displays the cash amount collected, the tax percentage applicable, and the amount of tax due to the tax collection agency.

This feature is available in version 8.3a using the Line Item Financials package. If you have questions about this feature or any of the other features mentioned in this article, please contact the Training Department at training@cprplus.com.

CPR+ and ZirMed can transform the way you get things done.

Definitive Homecare Solutions and ZirMed are both steadfastly committed to delivering provider-focused technology solutions. The synergies created by this unique partnership are revolutionizing the revenue cycle for CPR+ customers.

“Our transition to ZirMed has been an extremely smooth experience. The Implementation Department has made sure they contact me every couple of weeks to ensure there are no problems and to answer any questions we may have. The claim reports are much more detailed than any I have seen in the past. I am able to see the exact date and time that my claims were received by insurance companies. Claim rejections appear immediately for us and can then be corrected and resubmitted right on the web site. If I have any issues, problems or questions, ZirMed has been very responsive. We are also receiving our remits through ZirMed which makes things so much easier and less expensive than using two different companies.”

Karen Richert,
Reimbursement Manager, Altius Healthcare
