Significant enhancements related to delivery management have been made in CPR+ v8.3c. In previous versions, the truck icon on the Toolbar opened a grid labeled “Delivery Ticket - Driver Assignment”. The grid contained all Delivery Tickets that had been printed and sent to the Confirmation File. Its main purpose was to assign a delivery driver to each Delivery Ticket, thereby assuring that someone was responsible for delivering the item(s) to the patient. Over the past nine months, we have dedicated substantial resources to the development of a full set of delivery management tools. The Delivery Manager is one of these tools. The truck icon remains, but the grid behind it has been completely re-written. Now, the primary purpose of Delivery Manager is to create, view and track “delivery routes” – groups of Delivery Tickets that can be delivered by a single driver on a single day. A powerful integration with MapQuest is also included. At the top of the Delivery Manager, there are four separate tabs – each with their own main functions. From left to right, the tabs are labeled: Unassigned Tickets, Pending Routes, In Progress Routes and Completed Routes. The following is a high level description of some of the features of the new Delivery Manager. For more advanced training on this new capability, schedule a 30 minute session with a trainer today.
The purpose of the Unassigned Tickets tab is to enable you to group delivery tickets with similar characteristics together to form a “route” and to assign a driver. Use the Map It button to view the Shipping Address on every Delivery Ticket in the proposed route. As before, all Delivery Tickets previously sent to the Confirmation File (and waiting to be confirmed) are viewable from the Unassigned Routes tab. You may filter the list by many different criteria, reducing the number of Tickets until a logical route is established. Click the Create Route / Assign Driver (F9) button to assign those Delivery Tickets to a Route. Once they have been assigned, the Route and all the assigned Delivery Tickets move to the Pending Routes tab. The Pending Routes tab allows you to see previously defined delivery routes, either in Route view or, by double clicking on a route, in Tickets view. You can map and optimize the route from the Pending Routes tab as well. Routes move from the Pending Routes tab to the In Progress tab when an employee using one of our mobile solutions, (CPR+ Smartphone or Delivery Plus) selects and initiates a Pending Route. The driver or delivery person can indicate on the Smartphone or PDA when each delivery is completed and that information is immediately relayed to CPR+ and is displayed on the In Progress tab. In addition, you can send a Delivery Ticket directly to a driver on a route in progress, and it will immediately appear on his or her device. Once a route is completed, ending route mileage can be recorded and the route moves to the Complete Routes tab. Completed routes are stored on the Completed Routes tab for historical and reporting purposes. Because making deliveries is at the core of what you do every day, we wanted to give you a better tool to help you manage the process. Give the Delivery Manager a try. We think it will help you save time, save money, save fuel and delivery better service to your patients. Hey, we’re not talking pizza here.
