Once you’ve updated to version 8.3, you’ll be creating Orders, then tying those Orders to items on your Delivery Tickets. But what about those tickets that are already in your Delivery Ticket Confirmation Manager or your Ready-to-Bill Orders Manager? Here's another question: How do I bill Medicare for Denial in version 8.3? Answers to these questions (and much more) are presented in our LIVE Wednesday Webinars. For those of you who have not attended one of these FREE sessions, here are a few helpful hints. Working Existing Tickets: Before you update to v8.3, you’ll want to work in both the Delivery Ticket Confirmation Manager and the Ready-to-Bill Orders Manager to get the lists down to the smallest possible number of tickets. The shorter each list is when you update, the smoother the transition will be for your organization. Just as you've always done, before creating invoices or even before confirming tickets, open the record to be sure that the data is as complete as possible. Remember, to take full advantage of the new One-Click Billing functionality, every item must have an Order assigned. Here's how you do it: As you are working through your Confirmation Manager, View the Ticket (F3), then select an Order from the dropdown as shown in the screenshot below.
If an Order already exists, you can use the right-click functionality to Assign the Item to the Current Order. (See below.)To make things easier, we’ve added <Ctrl+Click> and <Shift+Click> functionality to CPR+. Using this helpful shortcut, you can select every item (or multiple items) on the ticket, then right-click, and assign them to the Current Order.
You can assign items to Orders on existing tickets as you perform the “usual” process of checking things – verifying accuracy - and getting them prepared for Confirmation and Billing. Once you see the finished product – a bill that was created using the new 8.3 workflow – you’ll never want to go back. Because in this new version, the information entered in the Order carries over to the Ticket and then on to the Invoice. When you are fully utilizing the new system, the batch billing process truly becomes “One-Click Billing.” Billing Medicare for Denial - Existing Tickets When creating New Tickets in CPR+ version 8.3, billing for denial is an easy process. When you create the invoice, CPR+ will automatically prompt you to bill Medicare for Denial. No more creating denial lines manually!
However, if you have existing tickets in the Ready-to-Bill Manager (pre 8.3) that need to be billed for denial, they may be missing a few key data elements. Perform the following steps to populate the necessary data. First, unconfirm the ticket. Next, open the ticket in the Delivery Ticket Confirmation Manager and select the Pre-Invoice Review tab. Use the same right-click functionality to select all line items, then change the Payor to the Payor from which you expect to receive payment. While you're there, right-click to View the Assigned Order and verify that the same Payor is assigned to the Order. Lastly, re-confirm the ticket.
Once your system is updated to version 8.3, as new Orders, Delivery Tickets and Invoices are created, information entered in the Order, such as Payor and Therapy Type, will be carried through the process to the Invoice. There, you will be able to use the full extent of the Batch Billing functionality, which simplifies your billing process.
