Hello CPR+ Customers,
Thanks for your continued support of D.H.S. and CPR+. With 2010 behind us, I want to take a moment and let you know what’s in store for 2011 and provide a “quick” recap of all the great stuff that happened last year.
So what’s on the agenda for 2011?
We’re charging into 2011 with a ton of momentum. Our CPR+ v8.4a release has already been distributed to our Beta customers, many of whom are running it in their Live, production systems. We also just posted a Beta Release of v8.3f, which contains a significant enhancement for the CMS Competitive Bidding program. One of the things we’ve been very focused on over the past few months is finalizing our release schedule for 2011.
2011 Release Schedule Announced –
In 2011, we will return to a more structured release schedule for CPR+ software updates with smaller, slightly more frequent General Releases that will contain new features and functionality. Interim updates will be released as needed and will be limited to minor regulatory changes and resolutions of issues in the previous release. While no release schedule is perfect for every customer, we believe this plan will make the updates more stable while allowing us to be responsive to the needs of the three distinct markets we serve.
At this time, we have scheduled three General Releases for 2011, v8.4a in January, v8.5a in May and v8.6a in September. Some of the new enhancements planned for 2011 include:
- Significant Enhancements to CMN / SMN Creation & Tracking,
- Authorization Management Enhancements,
- Faster Batch Claim Creation and Easier Edit Handling,
- A Sales & Marketing add-on to CPR+ Smartphone for Sales Reps,
- An “Email Manager” to enable you to easily create and send batch emails to MD’s, Case Managers, Patients with Refills or Recurring Supplies, etc.,
- Integrated NPI Database with Physician Import,
- A Web Portal Enhancement to allow MD’s to electronically review and sign Orders, CMN’s and other Documents.
Extended Customer Support Hours –
To better serve our customers, especially those of you outside of the Eastern Time Zone, we have extended our Customer Support hours until 9 PM EST M-F. Of course, an on-call Support Rep is still available 24/7.
More FREE Training Webinars –
We know you’re busy -- you’ve got patients to take care of and a business to run. Finding the time to get the training you need on CPR+ is never easy. To make it easier, in 2008 we began offering at least 1 or 2 free training webinars per month on different CPR+ topics. Due to the positive response, we plan to increase the frequency of webinars to 3 or 4 per month, with a renewed emphasis on core functionality in addition to new features. These sessions typically last 60-90 minutes and include Q & A time with the Trainer. Check the newsletter and our website frequently for the schedule – we hope you’ll plan to attend a webinar soon.
2011 CPR+ Road Show –
Attendance at our annual User Conference has increased every year, but we understand that it’s difficult for some customers to get away. As a result, we’re taking our show on the road. Beginning in March, we’re going to start conducting one-day training seminars in cities throughout the U.S., maybe one near you. So join us and find out what’s new in CPR+, learn about five features that have been there for years, ask a burning question, make a request, or just get out of the office for a day :-) you’ve earned it! We’ll be announcing our tour schedule later this month, so be sure to check the newsletter or our website for details.
Coming to a Trade Show Near You –
This year, we’ll again be exhibiting at all the major trade shows in our three markets, including the Armada Specialty Summit, National Home Infusion Association, Medtrade Spring and Fall as well as countless state-based HME conferences. We’re also planning another HME Summit, and of course, our 8th Annual CPR+ User Conference. Stay tuned to the Weekly Infusion for more details.
Weekly Staff Training –
Last month, in an effort to better educate our staff on industry changes and software enhancements so that they can better serve YOU, we implemented an ongoing internal training program. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, we conduct staff training sessions on a wide variety of topics.
There’s actually more 2011 news to tell you, but I promised to keep this brief.
2010 Recap
Looking back at 2010, it was an unbelievable year for D.H.S. Where do I begin?
New Headquarters -
2010 was an exciting year for D.H.S. In June 2009, we purchased a much larger office building– 18,500 square feet compared to our previous 11,750 - and started a total renovation a few months later. By March 2010, the job was finished and we were ready for the move. We’re pretty proud of our new space and want all of you to know that you’re always welcome to visit. Click the New Headquarters link to view some pictures of our building. Our new address is: 707 Park Meadow Rd., Westerville, OH, 43081.
New Employees -
We also added six new employees to our staff, bringing our total full-time employee count to 62. David Mackey, Wes Kroeker and Larry Basford joined the Customer Support Department and Krishna Kundur joined us as our new Product Development Manager. We have current openings for a full-time Marketing Manager, and HME and Specialty Pharmacy Trainers.
Medical Specialties Distributors Interface Announced -
In March of 2010, we announced a long-term, exclusive agreement to integrate CPR+ with MSD, the leading medical supplier in the industry. To date, we have developed and released functionality to integrate with their Patient Home Delivery program, Purchase Order integration with their bulk ordering process, including automated Purchase Order replenishing, and initiated phase one of an interface with their One-Track Asset Management program. Look for even more integration in 2011.
Delivery Plus -
Our hand-held, web and GPS-enabled delivery management product was released in Beta to customers in December. Delivery Plus communicates with CPR+ in real-time over the web or a WiFi connection and allows you to manage deliveries in the field. Create and manage routes, update Delivery Ticket quantities, scan barcodes to assign serial numbers, capture patient signatures, auto-confirm DT’s that have been delivered, and track your drivers in real-time with Delivery Plus.
SPRx List Manager -
In the spring of 2010, we rolled out our new SPRx Enterprise List Manager for Specialty Pharmacies. This powerful feature lets high-volume specialty pharmacies efficiently process hundreds of new and refill prescriptions per day, adjudicating claims and collecting co-pays before prescriptions are filled and shipped.
Huge Growth in New Customers -
We had an excellent year sales-wise, increasing new customer sales by nearly 20% over 2009. We saw significant growth in all three of our homecare markets – HME, Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy, including some of the largest HME and Infusion providers in the country. We want to thank EVERY new customer who came on board in 2010, as well as all of you who have been loyal customers through the years.
Record-Setting User Conference Attendance, 2nd Annual HME Summit and Customer Advisory Groups –
In September, we descended on Orlando for our 7th Annual CPR+ User Conference. Attendees enjoyed three and a half days of networking with fellow customers, focused CPR+ training, including specific tracks for HME, IV and Specialty, round-table breakout sessions and interacting with our many industry leading Exhibitors. We also held our 2nd Annual HME Summit in the spring of 2010 and formed Customer Advisory Groups for HME and Specialty Pharmacy. Sincere thanks to everyone who attended the User Conference, HME Summit and/or participated in our advisory groups – your feedback and insight are what guide future CPR+ development.
Thanks to all of YOU for your continued support, feedback, suggestions, ideas and references. We do not take your business for granted and we will continue to do everything we can to exceed your expectations in 2011 and beyond.
Thanks for being our Customer,

Jeff Johnston
